FIRMNESS IN IRAN
BRITISH DEMAND
CLOSING OF AXIS CONSULATES
GERMAN PROPAGANDA EXPOSED
LONDON, September 8.
The British Minister in Teheran has formally demanded the closing of all legations and consulates belonging to the Axis and its satellites, as well as the surrender of all Germans in Iran.
There is no reply so far, but the British and Russian terms will be discussed at tomorrow's special session of the Iranian Parliament.
The Teheran radio, after exposing German propaganda in Iran, today turned its attention to Italy and quoted a news bulletin in Persian from Rome which asserted that a military revolt had broken out in Iran. Teheran declared: "Our listeners know this' is untrue. Order prevails in Iran, as any foreigners here can see for themselves."
