WINCHGOMBE, CARSON'S YEAR.
Sales of Winchcombe, Carson, and Co., Ltd., Sydney, for the year ended June 30 were 239,856 bales of wool, 504,617 fat sheep, and 17,346 fat cattle. Reference is made to the lower* production of wool, due to drought in New South Wales and South Queensland. "The appraisement scheme has continued to function smoothly," states the report, "and the assurance of a reasonable monetary return for each season's clip under the British contract is a boon to the woolgrowing industry." Reserves of the company used an the business had not been drawn upon. Depreciation written off, £4079. Net profit, £43,908, and balance undivided from last year, £11,711, making £55,619. Interim dividend at 7 per cent, per annum took £19,250; balance for disposal, £36,369. Final dividend at 7 per cent, per-annum is recommended, requiring £19,250 and to be placed to reserve, £7500—making the reserve £240,000. Carry forward £9619 18s.
