Kovacs lost touch at the start of the second set, and thereafter was completely outclassed. i Mrs., S. P., Cooke won the .National Women's Championship, defeating Pauline Betz 7-5, 6-2. This match was played in high wind. The first set was hard fought all the way and was uncertain until Mrs. .Cooke scored her first service break in . the twelfth game.
