MR. THOMAS O'BRIEN
The death occurred . in Wellington last week of Mr. Thomas O'Brien, for many years well known and respected in business circles in the city. Born in County Clare, Ireland, 70 years ago, Mr. O'Brien went with his parents to the West Coast at the age of two. He was a ready helper in many charitable organisations and took a leading part ih activities connected with the Catholic Church.
Among the many friends who attended the funeral were members of the Government and representatives of business and professional circles. Mr. O'Brien leaves a widow and six children, Messrs. John, Ben., and Leo O'Brien, Mrs. Joseph Devine (Awapuni), Mrs. John O'Brien-MacCormac (Lon.), and Miss Kathleen O'Brien. Mr. John O'Brien (Brooklyn) is a brother, and Mesdames J. Lake, W. Hills, J. Kershaw, and M. Roche, of Hataitai, are sisters. ■
