E.P.S. TRIAL
An emergency call to test the efficiency of the E.P.S. organisation in No. 5 district was made on Saturday afternoon, and, in spite of the bad weather, there was a ready response. The area concerned was in Karori, and the warden's group, the fire patrol, tHe communications section, and first aid detachment carried out their respective duties in a manner which gave satisfaction to those in control and provided valuable experience for all taking part. "Casualties" were treated by the first aid unit under Nurse Cameron and with Dr. Campbell Young as medical officer, and good work was also done by the Boy Scouts as runners. Mr. W. Schierning, with Mr. R. Jack as. deputy, had charge of the warden's group, and Messrs. Whitcomb and Free directed the information and fire patrol work respectively.
