BUSINESS FOR THIS WEEK

In reply to a question today, the Acting Prime Minister (Mr. Nash) said he would, not be introducing the War Damages Bill before Friday. The object of the Bill is to provide compensation for damage caused by enemy action.

When the House meets tomorrow afternoon, written Ministerial replies to questions, notice of which, has been given, will be taken, and when these are disposed of the House will go on tc deal with, the Bills on the Order Paper. These are t.he National De velopment Loans Bill, the Counties Insurance Empowering Bill, and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Bill, all of which are due for their second reading. There is also a local Bill, the Awatere County Empowering Bill, which was introduced by Mr. E. P. Meachen (Marlborough).

On Friday further consideration will be given to the departmental Estimates.
