LEADER DISEMBARKS
MORE DETAILS OF MEETING
LONDON, August 18.
Mr. Churchill was given a great welcome when he returned to this country today after his historic Atlantic meeting with President Roosevelt.
The party disembarked at a British port, and as Mr. Churchill drove through the streets of the town to his special train people shouted "Best of luck!"
Mr. Churchill smiled and raised his favourite yachting cap. An eye-witness said, "He looked very happy indeed.'
Professor F. A. Lindemann, who recently was honoured by the King, was Mr Churchill's special scientific adviser.
United States warships present at the meeting included the battleship Arkansas and the cruiser Tuscaloosa The conversations between Mr. Churchill and President Roosevelt took place on board the United States cruiser Augusta, and the statesmen were alone when they drew up their famous Eight Point Declaration.
The only visit made by President Roosevelt to the Prince of Wales was for the church service A film of the meeting was shown privately in London today and journalists who saw it say it will be a thrill for millions. It is' to be released generally in this country tomorrow.
