WANGANUI PROGRAMME
The Wanganui Jockey Club, except in one instance, is this year attaching identical stakes to the various eyente at the Spring Meeting to those offered last September. Whereas lastyear the stake-money offered in the WanganUl Guineas, decided on the second .day, was £350, the event will this year be a sweepstake of £5 each for-starters, with £500 added. The increased stake-money should be instrumental in bringing together a strong field of three-year-olds. The only other amendment in the programme is the distance of the Okehu Hack- Hurdles on the opening day; it has been reduced from a mile and three-quarters to a mile and a half. With its own course still occupied by the military,,the club will again race at Awapuni.
