PRISONERS SENTENCED

; Robert George Everett, soldier and labourer, aged 21, who pleaded guilty on August 13 in the Magistrate's Court to assault with intent to commit rape, was sentenced to twelye months' reformative detention by Mr. Justice Blair in the Supreme Court today. Albert Waitere, a labourer, aged 29, was admitted to probation for two years, and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution (£2 18s 6d), for attempted unlawful carnal knowledge. He pleaded guilty at New Plymouth on August 14. ' Mr. W. R. Birks appeared for the Crown.
