ANTI-FASCIST ACTIVITY
SWEEPING EUROPE
GROWING UNREST !N FRANCE
LONDON, August 17.
Reports reaching New York speak of growing unrest among French industrialists, who say that the men of Vichy are turning France into an arsenal for Germany.
The results' of the latest Gallup poll show that 58 per cent, of the American people believe that the Vichy regime is helping Hitler, and only 4 per cent, think that it is helping Britain.
According to the Tass news agency, a great wave of anti-Fascist activity is sweeping Europe, but in many cases the rebels have tp pay dearly for defying the enemy. Bitter struggles have taken place in Yugoslavia, and in Croatia prisoners who disarmed their guards at an interment camp were fired on by military detachments and later sentenced to death.
