BRITISH LEADER'S DENIAL
SINGAPORE, August 17.
The British Commander-in-Chief in the Far East, Air Marshal Sir Robert Brooke-Popham, said in a statement:
"The rumours emanating from Japan that we have threatened Thailand with the use of force is a typical flight of fancy,, and I deny it emphatically. There is not an atom of truth in it.
"I endorse the statement made by Sir Josiah Crosby, the British Minister to Thailand, yesterday, that we have made no demands whatever on the Government of Thailand,"
