MR, ATTLEE'S STATEMENT

LONDON, August 15. Mr. C. Attlee, Lord Privy Seal, toid West African students in London today that the joint Anglo-American declaration applied to all races of the world, coloured as well as white. He looked forward to an everincreasing measure of self-government in Africa and an ever-rising standard of life for all the peoples of Africa. "We of the Labour Party have always demanded that the freedom we claim for ourselves should be. extended to all men," said Mr. Attlee. "The principles of yesterday's declaration apply to all peoples of the world, Asiatic, African, everyone."
