TRAINER TAKEN TO TASK
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, August 15. The Victoria Racing Club committee disqualified for two years R. C. Stanton, trainer of Cheery Jack, for neglect to protect that horse, who was doped prior to the Grand National Steeplechase. The committee told Stanton they were convinced that he had failed to care for and protect the horse from being tampered with. Stanton was dumbfounded at the decision. He explained that he had never suspected the presence of dopers.
