Mr. H. A. Beauchamp, managing director of Kodak (New Zealand), Ltd., has returned from a business trip to Australia, - ■

Mr. Peter Bourke, who died at Edinburgh last Friday, was for many years a resident of Khandallali. He was a director of the firm of MurfE, Cottrell, and Co., Ltd., from 1903 until his retirement about two years ago.

Mr. H. A. Keeling, who for the past 25 years has been produce manager of the Bank of New Zealand at head office, retired from - the service on June 30. On the eve of his retirement he -was presented at a gathering of his fellow officers with an easy chair as a mark of esteem.

Mr. Alf. Dickson, who recently retired from active association with racing, was elected a life member of the South Canterbury Jockey Club at the annual meeting. The president (Mr. Donald Grant) said -that Mr. Dickson had been a judge, for the club for only about four 7 years, but had attended meetings as a journalist for more than 40 years, and had given fine service to the sport.
