PLUNKET'S CO-OPERATION

Three clinics for the examination and care of children of pre-school age will be open in a month's time, according to a statement made by Dr. H. B. Turbott at the recent annual meeting of the Lower Hutt Plunket Society. These clinics will continue the preand ante-natal care given mothers and babies by the Plunket Society. The society and the Department of Health will co-operate, doctors from the Department using Plunket rooms as clinics and examining children between the ages of 1 and 5 and advising the mothers, aided by the Plunket nurses. Forty such clinics would be in operation throughout the Dominion -by the end of the year, Dr. Turbott added.

Mr. J. W. Andrews, who presided, congratulated the society on its successful year's work and satisfactory balance-sheet He expressed .the society's sympathy to Mrs. E. P. Bunny and her family in the death of Mr. Bunny, who had been associated with the society since its inception, and whose help as honorary solicitor had been invaluable.

The president, Mrs. J. W. Andrews, spoke of the excellent work done by the Mothers', Club, especially in the Waiwhetu-and Taita-Knox districts, and expressed the hope that with the mothers' aid and- one annual collection there would be less calls for funds on the general public. She asked for volunteers for Plunket V.A.D.S whose lectures would be held on Tuesday '■evenings §it $he rooms.
