IRIS RETICULATA
This is a most charming little early spring-flowering iris, having a delightful scent. The colour is rich purple with a golden beard. The bulbs increase fairly well when conditions suit them and, therefore, they should be lifted every two or three years and replanted. If this is not done the flowers become so crowded that the outline of each is lost and half the beauty gone. On the other hand, the sight of a bed of several hundreds of these exquisite flowers amidst the greygreen foliage is a joy to the eye in early spring.
