It is learned that M. Chartier, the Vichy Government's Consul-General in London, left at the request of the British Government, as a result of the expulsion of Mr. Havard from Lebanon. —U.P.A.
London reported yesterday that M. Dentz, the Vichy representative in Syria, had stated: "On instructions from Vichy, I notified Mr- Havard, the British Consul-General at Lebanon, that he must cease his activities and leave the country. This measure is a reply to the expulsion of the French Consul-General from London." f
