CITY CLEANLINESS
I Writing as a visitor to Wellington "Critic" suggests that the new City Council should give its first attention to cleansing the city. He complains particularly of the filth" caused by numerouo roaming dogs. Also the gutters and footpaths in many side streets are anything but creditable, and detract from the favourable impression given by fine city buildings. People throw down all kinds of rubbish—paper, bones, and empty tins. It would be worth while for the council to stop unessential work for three years and concentrate on streets, gutters, and cleanliness.
