MR. FUSSELL APPOINTED

The appointment of Mr. E. C. Fussell as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand was announced today by the Minister of Finance (Mr. Nash).

Mr. Fussell has been with the Reserve Bank since its inception, and for the major part of this time was the secretary to the bank. Since April, 1939. he has been assistant to the governors,

During the last few years Mr. Fussell has had extensive experience overseas, especially in connection with the central banks of the world, including the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, the Federal Reserve Banking system of the United States, the Central Bank of Canada, the Bank of England, and several European central banks.
