MINE WORKERS BACK
WAGE SETTLEMENT REACHED
NEW YORK, May 20.
The president of the United Mine (Workers, bMr. John L. Lewis, has ordered the hard-coal miners to return to work pending the» signing of a tentative agreement providing for an
immediate wage increase.
A report from Lorain (Ohio) says that approximately 1000 workmen struck' today, closing the American Shipbuilding Company's plant, handling 10,000,000 dollars' worth of defence contracts. —U.P.A.
