eral manager and secretary of the Belfast Harbour Commissioners and in 1922-38 was. general manager to the Port of London Authority, He was a past president of the Institute of Transport and in 1939 was chairman of the Merchant Shipping Reserve Advisory Committee which acted for the Board of Trade. He was 67 years of age and was knighted in 1931.
