NAZI OCCUPATION DENIED

The official news agency at Vichy denied New York reports that a German occupation of Dakar was envisaged during the talks between Admiral Darlan and Herr Hitler.—U.P.A.

VICHY, May 17,
France has confidence in Hitler's word, declared a French Government spokesman countering President Roosevelt's statement. He emphasised that Marshal Petain used the word collaboration as covering political and economic fields and not military action. —U.P.A.
