MEN'S HOCKEY

SENIOR GAMES

Only one senior hockey match on Saturday resulted in an easy win, that of Karori Kiwis over Air Force by 6 goals to 3. Wellington had the only other victory by 2 goals to 0 over Hutt, and the other two matches, between Karori Tuls and University and Huia and Technical, were each drawn at 2-all. Wesley had a bye. Technical created a favourable impression in their first appearance of the season, when they forced the powerful Huia team to a draw. Excellent, defensive work by Technical, combined with good constructive play b.v Garbett, was largely responsible for the team's good showing. Bastion brought on* three or four wonderful saves for Technical. Hula did not appear capable of produrinj: their usually formidable combination. Scorers for Technical were Domb and Garbett, and Searle and Kelly | scored for Huia. AIR FORCE v. KARORI KIWIS. Air Force found Karori Kiwis, too strong, although they took the initiative for a while during thp second half. Karori, However, with more experience at their command, scored six* goals, Mulheron netting* two, Sim two, and Beck and Adams one each. Chalmers, Frier, and Jones scored for Air Force. UNIVERSITY V. KARORI TUIS. University, but for consistent Inaccuracy in the circle, would have defeated Karori Tuis. Whenever University went in the circle, however, chances were lost through miss-hitting and over-hurried play. Braithwalte scored twice for University and Nimmo and Mears scored for Karori Tuis.
