PRIMARY PRODUCE

MARKETING PROBLEMS

RESOLUTIONS CARRIED

The production and marketing of primary products were discussed by a conference of all export producing interests in New Zealand and their marketing boards yesterday. Resolutions were carried affirming adherence to the principle of producer control of marketing, recognising the necessity for a substantial measure of Government control during wartime, pointing out that an economic crisis could be caused if produce could not be shipped, urging the Government to implement its declared policy that losses to the primary producers due to war should be spread, asking the Government to make known its policy for the disposal of primary products during the coming season, and that decisions for the maintenance of the bobby-calf industry in the interests' of the cheese industry should be made known as quickly as possible. These resolutions are to be placed before the Acting Prime Minister (Mr. Nash) and the Minister of Agricultiu-e (Mr. Barclay).
