JAPAN'S POSITION
-DEMILITARISED SIBERIA
(Rec. 2.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 2. Additional Axis peace terms as outlined by the "Japan Times and Advertiser" are:— '
The German sphere of influence to extend to the Sea of Marmora. Germany to participate in the oil in Irak and Iran; the United States, in her sphere'^ oS influence, to accord the fullest .freedom and equality of opportunity to Germany and also her allies; no American naval bases west of Hawaii and that stronghold to be reduced in importance; in the Pacific, the Netherlands East Indies to be detached from the Netherlands arid placed under an independent Government; throughout all these Pacific islands Japanese advisers to be admitted and entrusted with, the duty of rationalising the forms of co-operation in the. Co-prosperity sphere; French Indo-.China to receive similar independence; as a reassurance to Japan and a gesture of confidence the Soviet to demilitarise Siberia and remove the menace of Vladivostok, in return for which Japan will reduce her forces in. Manchukuo and Mongolia;-India to obtain self-government; religious and political liberty to be joined throughout the world.—U.P.A. '
