BADMINTON
Speaking at the annual meeting of the Wellington Badminton Association last week, the president, Mr. D. 0. Whyte, said that the keynote of the association's activities would be the holding together of the organisation. In readiness for a period of expansion after the war. Badminton had suffered severely through, the Joss of the Winter Show building. The loss of playing halls, scarcity of shuttles, and, above all, the large proportion of men players who had volunteered for service in all branches of the Forces were factors with which clubs had to contend, and considering the adverse conditions, membership had be«n good.
The Officers elected were:—Patron, Mr. P. B. Cooke; president, Mr. E. .1. RishWorth; vicepresident, Mr. N. L. Dickson; management committee, Messrs. W. J. C. Berry, T. N. Foden, C. H. S. Gyles, K. Le Sueur, C. N. Smith, C. G. Welch, and D. 0. Whyte; lion, auditor, Mr. A. L. McLean.
Kauri Timber Company, Ltd., advises the Stock Exchange that an interim dividend of 2\ per cent, for the halfyear ended February 28 will be paid en May 30.
