Winsome Lv has already been twice reported as retired, but she has made a reappearance on the Hawera tracks and is to face another campaign. This Raceful mare has always been at her best on easy ground, and last winter she not only won the Foxton Cup and the Otaki Ta Timi Kara Handicap, but she also ran a great race for third in the W.R.C. Parliamentary Handicap. • When the last mail to hand left Sydney 53 apprentices were enrolled at the A.J.C. school for apprentice jockeys. The school will be under the direction of Professor J. D. Stewart. The latest arrival at Takanini is a rising four-year-old gelding by Kincardine from Sunny Sky, the newcomer having been leased by .Mr. E. Fitzgerald to a patron of D. J. Burgess's stable. He is a plain gelding, but is nicely proportioned and he may develop into a useful galloper.
