ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE ■■ _ ♦ Eight months' hard labour was the sentence imposed on Andrew May, a labourer, aged 30. and Francis William Quilty, seaman and labourer, aged 25, by the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) in the Supreme Court ' today, for robbery with violence. The prisoners -had pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's' Court on April 30. His Honour said they had robbed a man named Boyd'of a sum of money, certainly not very ' great, but' they had used violence and that could not be done with impunity. They were no doubt under the influence of liquor at the time, and so was Boyd. The sentence would be light for that class of offence. Mr. W. R. Birks appeared for the Crown. STOCKS* AND SHARES.
