RAID CASUALTIES
TOTAL TO END OF MARCH
29,000 DEAD, 40,000 INJURED
LONDON, April 30
The Minister of Health, Mr. Ernest Brown, reviewing the air-raid casualties in Britain, said that up to the end of March nearly 29,000 people had been killed and 40,000 injured.
Speaking of the damage done to hospitals, he said that the number of casualties caused in them was very small, considering the intensity of the raids. In the London area only three of the principal casualty receiving hospitals had been damaged badly as to be put completely out of action.
