SIXTY GUESTS

PRIVATE PARTY FOR NAVY

PRINCESS

Mrs. H. R. Sleeman, whose husband. Lieut-Commander Sleeman is with the Navy Office in Wellington, gave a party on Saturday evening to aid the campaign of the Navy Princess, Miss Patricia McCarthy, in the Victory Queen Carnival. About sixty guests gathered at Lieutenant-Commander and Mrs. Sleeman's home in Ngaio for the occasion. The drawing- and din-ing-rooms, where games were played, were gay with dahlias and asters.

Mrs. Sleeman, who received with her husband, wore a floral silk frock in tones of red and gold, and Miss McCarthy was in an apple-green dress. The evening was pronounced a great success by the many young people and Navy Office staff who were present.
