MESSAGE OF APPRECIATION
LONDON, April 6.
The following message was given verbally to General Cunningham, general officer commanding in East Africa, by an Italian envoy before the entry of Imperial troops into Addis Ababa:— "His Royal Highness the Duke of Aosta wishes to express his appreciation of the initiative taken by General Wavell and General Cunningham regarding the protection of women and children in Addis Ababa, demonstrating the strong bonds of humanity and grace still existing between the iwo countries."
