The annual butlers' ball. was allBritish and the German, "Polish,'and Russian foxtrots, and even the Irish reel, which were daiiced.last year, were banned. .In the finale 600' butlers and maids led'by a Union Jack paraded for twenty, minutes, the band'playing alternately "Columbia, the Gem of the Ocean" and "There'll Always be an England." Italians and Germans did not attend. All the proceeds were for British war relief. An ambulance wai raffled and given to Britain with^th* winner's name engraved on its sidi.
