NATIONAL PARTY
THE PAHIATUA SEAT
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
DANNEVIRKE, February 14,
The annual meeting of the Dannevirke branch of the National Party re-elected Mr. W. Howarth as chairman. The appointment of a secretary was referred to the executive, Mr. F. R. St. John Pedler, the former secretary, now being stationed at New Plymouth with the Air Force. Mr. K. J. Holyoake, who has been selected to contest the Pahiatua seat, was present. He explained that he was visiting the electorate to meet branches and discuss matters principally relating to organisation. He hoped he would'be worthy of the confidence placed in him. He paid a tribute to Sir Alfred Ransom's services to the electorate and the Dominion and said Sir Alfred had set him a high standard to follow.
