Bundle, S.M., imposing a fine of £25 and costs 10s on Robert Dow, president of the Petrol Resellers'' Association, who was convicted in the Magistrate's Court of selling or disposing, of 235 gallons of petrol otherwise than in accordance with his permit. ( The police stated that the defendant was the proprietor of a service station; The charge concerned 235 gallons the defendant had sold or disposed of other than in accordance with the regulations.
Counsel said that the defendant's monthly sales averaged 4000-5000 gallons, and he had a great deal to do. He got his accounts muddled and foolishly he altered the entries. The offence had not been deliberate.
