A ROOM WITHOUT A VIEW
BRIGHTEN THE WINDOWS
If you have a window which looks out on to a dull or unpleasant view, disguise it by this simple means. Put up a very full net or lace curtain, on which you have embroidered "lazy daisies" as closely as possible in
various sizes and in as many bright colours as you can find. Use wool for the embroidery, and! make use of all the odds and ends in your knitting bag. Treat your cushions in the same way, and you will be amazed at the effectiveness of the idea. To help the neatness and roundness of your daisies, trace round a penny, a half-penny, and a farthing with a pencil, and then the embroidery will be simple. ' A cushion buttonholed all round in all colours also looks very gay..
