DAMAGES AWARDED
General damages of £100 and special damages of £140 10s 6d were awarded by a jury of four in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon to Basil Robert Blackball, garage hand and painter, in his claim against the Fletcher Construction Co., Ltd., for damages for an injury received in Taranaki Street on July 26, 1939, when he was struck by a motor-lorry owned by the defendant company.'The claim for general damages was for £300. The Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) was on the Bench. Dr. O. C. Mazengarb appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. W. E. Leicester for the defendant company.
