BISHOP BRODIE'S JUBILEE
(Special to the "Evening Post.")
CHRISTCHURCH, This Day,
One of the largest gatherings of Roman Catholic clergy yet to visit Christchurch will be in the city for the celebration of the jubilee of the Bishop, Rev. Dr. M. J. Brodie. The functions begin on February 23. The three other New Zealand Bishops will be present, headed by the Metropolitan of New Zealand, the Most Rev. Dr. T. O'Shea. In addition about eight Monsignors and more than 40 priests from the other three dioceses have notified their intention of coming to Christchurch. The jubilee is regarded by the Catholic Church in New Zealand as of importance historically for it will be the first episcopal jubilee celebrated by a New Zealand-born Bishop.
