CONFERENCE PENDING

AUCKLAND, February 14,
Two members of the Commonwealth Government's delegation to discuss mutual war problems with the New Zealand Government arrived by the Aotearba from Sydney today. They are Mr. J. V. Moroney, senior inquiry officer of the Department of Commerce, and Mr. D. L. Canavan, of the Treasury. The officers were met by Mr. F. B. Stephens, of the Department of Internal Affairs, and the Australian Trade Commissioner of New Zealand, Mr. C. E. Critchley. They will undertake preliminary work pending the arrival of the. head of the delegation, the Hon. H. L. Anthony, assistant treasurer and assistant Minister of Commerce. Mr. Anthony is to be accompanied by the chairman of the Australian Meat Board, Mr. A. W. Fisken, but the full personnel has not yet been announced. The Minister will be met on his arrival at Auckland by the Minister of Marketing and Agriculture (Mr. Barclay). . Among subjects to be discussed in Wellington are co-ordination of wartime production, shipping, curtailment of meat exports to the United.Kingdom, provision of refrigerated space, exports in general, and a long-term policy for dealing with surplus products.
