CASH ORDERS
INQUIRY IN AUSTRALIA
SYDNEY, February 13
The Commonwealth Government has appointed a committee to investigate cash order and hire-purchase transactions. The Acting Premier. Mr. Fadden, said that the Capital Issues Advisory Board had been considering the effects on Australian internal economy of cash order and hire-pur-chase arrangements and that the board was not satisfied that these activities were being conducted in a manner beneficial in all respects to public and national interest, having regard to war-time conditions. Consequently a committee had been appointed with wide powers to make an exhaustive investigaton.
