MURDER CHARGE FAILS
MANSLAUGHTER VERDICT

HAMILTON, February 6.
The trial Of Charles Harold Longley, aged 39, invalidity pensioner, Manunui, on ,a charge ..-of murdering . Jeremia O'Sulllvan on September 22 last, reached its final stage in the Supreme Court today. " .
After a retirement of four hours, the jury found Lorigley not guilty of.murder but guilty of manslaughter through his. negligent handling of the firearm. It added a strong, recommendation to mercy oh account of his health at the time of. the offence.
The prisoner was remanded for sentence till the . end of the criminal cases.
