FOOD IN BRITAIN
STANDARDISED WHOLEMEAL LOAF
(British Official Wireless.)
RUGBY, February 4,
A national wholemeal loaf which is to be standardised will be available in the shops within the next few days at the same price as the ordinary white loaf, r states the Ministry of Food. As a result of research work by scientific experts, the Minister of Food is satisfied that the flour used will give a maximum of digestibility with a maximum of nutriment. The meat situation is slightly better than it was last week, but it is unlikely that the quantity of cheese available will be much greater in the immediate future.
