FINE WEATHER AHEAD

Special forecast for Wellington:— Moderate and variable breezes. Weather fine, with rising temperatures. I The further outlook is for two or three days of settled weather. The general forecast issued at noon today was for south-easterly to easterly winds gradually becoming strong in the extreme north. Elsewhere there will be moderate breezes from a southerly quarter, freshening at times on the east coast and in the far south. Drizzle will develop in the: extreme north, and elsewhere the weather will be fair to fine with moderate temperatures. In the last 24 hours pressure has continued to rise over the Dominion with an anti-cyclone from the west. Moderate to strong south-westerlies prevailed, but forces have decreased overnight, except in the far south. Southeasterlies are now freshening over the Auckland peninsula. The weather has been fair to fine over most of the country. There were occasional showers, however, in the far south and in the high country of the North Island. Temperatures were cool to moderate. The weather was cloudy to overcast in Auckland and Christchurch yesterday, and changeable in Dunedin, with occasional showers. . Wellington experienced fine weather with variable breezes from the south during most of the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 69.2 and 46.8 j degrees, and there were 10.8 hours of i bright sunshine.
