VETERANS AT PLAY
HUTT WIN THE DAY
Bowlers of ripe ages-r-from.7o to 89— had an outing of their own at the Wellington Bowling Club yesterday afternoon, well over 100 representatives of various clubs of the Wellington Bowling Centre taking part. They played in fours representing their clubs, and, as in past similar events, the'games produced a standard of performance show-r-ig that the veterans for all, their years retain their form remarkably well. The winners of the tournament, those who. won their game by the widest margin, were four members of the Hutt Clvb —Burgess, Hardy, Parker, and Laker (s). The winning skip had previously been a winner in 1935, then as a Victoria skip. Arrangements for the tournament were splendidly handled by Mr. F. Spiller, and the assistance given by the Wellington Club and the ladies contributed in no small way to a delightful afternoon for the veterans. . Results were:— !
