COLONEL DONOVAN TO VISIT EGYPT
LONDON, February 4
The Ankara correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" states that President Roosevelt's special envoy, Colonel Donovan, has left for Egypt. He will visit England after going to Spain.

GERMAN RULE IN EUROPE
LONDON, February 4
German and German-controlled news sources today report increased troubles under German rule in Norway, Denmark, Belgium, and Poland. A report from Berlin says a German court martial sentenced to death three Norwegians for wirelessing information alleged to have helped British bombing planes.
A report from Copenhagen says the Danish Government has announced that stocks of coal are low and householders will probably be unable to be supplied with gas. A scheme to provide citizens with one hot meal a day is being worked out.
A broadcast from the German controlled Brussels radio speaks of evergrowing whispering rumours about Belgium's food supply and asserts that the German army of occupation is not living off Belgium's reserve of food.
In Poland, a German newspaper is complaining about an anti-German whispering campaign. It is reported in London that in Warsaw "soap now costs 15s a cake, a ton of timber for fuel at least £2, and milk cannot be bought at any price.
