LOWER HUTT CARNIVAL
Owing to the unfavourable weather events which were to have been staged last evening on the recreation ground by the Lower Hutt Jubilee Carnival Committee were postponed. The gymnastic display by Jenkins Gymnasium teams will take place as an extra item on Thursday evening's programme, which includes a grand military dis» play, with the Trentharr Band in attendance, and displays by Anton Koolman's teams of wrestlers and weight lifters.
Last evening the First Battalion Regiment Band (The City of Wellington's Own) was in attendance, and tonight and Friday evening the Lower Hutt Municipal Band will play selections. On Saturday afternoon there will be an extended programme by the N.Z.R.A.F. Band and on Saturday evening the Petone Citizens' Band and the Lower Hutt Civic Band will pro* vide the music during the final events.
