Since the opening of the war savings compaign £216,359,582 has been raised by the sale of savings certificates and £215,132,400 by. the sale of defence bonds, while the balance due to depositors in the Post Office Savings Bank and trustee savings bank has been increased by £ 135,957,000 to a grand total of £567,448,982.
