The advertised times for closing mails by steamers are liable to alteration. The public are earnestly requested to register all letters containing money or valuables intended to be sent by post. Unless otherwise specified, registered letters must be handed in and money-orders obtained one hour before the time of closing ordinary mails. Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. all* commercial and printed papers, books, sample packets, and newspa]/»:rs must be posted at this office half an -hour before the time of closing ordinary letter mails, and at 4 p.m. for mails closing after that houri ' Books, sample packets, and newspaper mails are closed at Te Aro and Wellington East Post Offices at 1 p.m., 2.30 p.m., and 4 p.m. daily.
