. Bright sunshine, again prevailed for ' the second day of the Wellington Trotting Club's Summer Meeting at Hutt ' Park today, and there was a particularly large attendance. The" track had dried up considerably, and as a consequence fast times were registered. Results up to time of going to press were:— PROGRESSIVE HANDICAP, £200; 4.59 class; 2 miles. . 2—3—l. G. Danzie Guy, Helen Scott, and Worthy Audubon made mistakes in the early section, and the role of pacemaker was taken up by Highrate, who was doing it nicely in the front from Gipsy Lee as -they came \through the straight of the first lap. There was little change in the order, but on entering the final round the backmarker, Allie Audubon, commenced to move up and took charge half a mile from home, Helen Scott went with her momentarily, but made a skip, and the backmarker turned into the straight well clear of Chateau, with Danzie Guy and Gipsy Lee next in the order. Over the final pinch Allie Audubon was untroubled to win by five lengths from Danzie Guy, who got up in time to beat Chateau for second money". Highrate was right up fourth. After registering three second? during the past fouth months Falaise won the Woburn Handicap in good style. She made a good beginning and raced in fourth place to the bend for home, when she set out after Castella Del Oro, who had worked to. the front on the turn with Swagger Jack and Kaulala mixed in the running. In a hard finish Falaise won by a neck from Castella Del Oro with Kaulala two lengths away. All Gallant took the lead at the end of the first furlong and led to within three furlongs of home, where he- collapsed. The unlucky runner, however, was Swagger Jack, who broke at the start and lost 36 yards. He was back in seventh place with a round to go, but although he ran up to the leaders three furlongs, from home, he tired over the last fifty yards and was narrowly beaten for third. Huguenot was third two lengths away, and Salalon next. Gold Bar failed after making the pace firm. ■
