NATIONAL ART GALLERY.

A new collection of 150 facsimile colour reproductions of old masters and modern paintings will be officially opened at the National Art Gallery, Buckle Street, tonight. This is the third collection of reproductions obtained by the National Art Gallery with funds granted for the purpose by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the first two collections having already been shown in Wellington. It comprises a comprehensive selection of works after the greatest artists of the Dutch, British, Flemish, Italian, German, Spanish, and- French schools of painting. The reproductions will later be made available on loan to other centres throughout New Zealand. The exhibition will be open daily at the National Art Gallery until February 28. The public are invited to attend the official opening tonight. Lectures on the pictures in the collection have been arranged, as announced in an advertisement in this issue.
