CONCENTRATED ATTACK

TARGETS ON FIRE

STATION AND OIL.STORES

(British Official Wireless.)

(Received January 18, 11 a.m.). , RUGBY, January 17: '

Severe icing conditions did not pre? vent the R.A.F. once more making the Wilhelmshaven naval base their main objective last night, when a highly-concentrated attack was carried out.

Though it was on a smaller scale than the. previous night highly successful results were obtained. The aircraft first on the scene caused

many fires, and the later arrivals re* ported that these reached very large proportions, especially at the railway station and the area in which! the oil storage tanks are situated. . An Air Ministry communique states: "In addition to the Wilhelmshaven raid the R.A.F. last night attacked the docks at Em den, Boulogne,, and Calais, the railway junction at Ostend, and aerodromes occupied in France. From all these operations five of our aircraft are missing. "Electrical storms were experienced during the Wilhelmshaven raid."
